Holstenplatz
The Christmas market on Holstenplatz has a fresh new look and traditionally attracts visitors for a winter stroll with a balanced mix of arts and crafts, punch and tasty treats.
Winter forest on Holstenplatz
Holstenplatz remains cosy even when it's cold or the weather in northern Germany is cold, as it is partly transformed into a cosy winter forest with inviting lounge areas with seating containers to sit under cover and round tables to linger at.
Numerous illuminated fir trees are of course a must. Once again, 99 illuminated LED stars hang in the trees. The approximately one kilometre long LED garland with thousands of light points also decorates the gables of the Christmas market stalls and creates a festive atmosphere on the market square.
The large deer, Santa Claus and numerous glowing forest animals made from LED lights provide atmospheric photo opportunities. Visitors can capture all their memories of their Christmas market stroll in a photo booth.

On the Sundays of Advent, Father Christmas distributes sweets

- 4th Advent 21st December from 3 to 5 p.m.
Charity punch stands on Holstenstraße (near Schevenbrücke bridge, Europaplatz)
- Round Table: Friday, 21 November, 28 November, 5 December, 12 December, 19 December, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day
- Kiel Lions Clubs: Saturday, 29 November, 6 December, 13 December, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day
- Navy: Monday to Thursday, 8–11 December, 2–10 p.m. each day
- Lions Club Kiel-Baltic: Tuesday, 24 December, at noon in front of the Kieler Nachrichten building on the occasion of the trombone concert
